Internet Law - Everyone Wants a Bite of the Apple




Many may agree with the statement that the United States is the country of lawsuits. In Europe and Latin America -where most countries have civil law systems,- there is no much litigation frenzy as in the United States; particularly against big packet defendants –it means, big companies. In some cases these lawsuits are noteworthy because they help establish principles of law and community rights; yet, in other cases they seem to be a 'fund raising' campaign. This article informs on a class action lawsuit against Apple Inc. and some companies that design cellular phone applications; a lawsuit that despite the importance of the privacy issue raised, seems to be nothing more than a money-driven lawsuit.
